H.A.L.T. Substance Use Educational Services opened in February 2017 by Jaynee Nelson. Jaynee has spent several years working in the field of substance use (alcohol & drugs) and mental health by helping others and their families. She wanted to expand and continue helping others who are struggling with issues and needing to be helped. She is hoping to grow and be able to provide additional services for those in need.
Jaynee Marie Nelson founded and is the Executive Director of H.A.L.T. Substance Use Educational Services. She is certified by the State of Oklahoma to conduct DUI assessments and facilitate 10 & 24 hour DUI classes (ADSAC). She currently manages all operations at H.A.L.T. and is a contracting therapist for local mental health/substance abuse counseling agencies in the Lawton/surrounding area. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma in May of 2017 with her Master of Human Relations (Mental Health Counseling). She is a License Professional Counselor (LPC). She graduated with a Master’s in Criminal Justice from the University of Louisiana (1999) and holds a License in Alcohol/Drug & Mental Health with the State of Oklahoma. She graduated from Cameron University in 1997 with a bachelors degree in Elementary Education. Jaynee taught in Dallas Public Schools and Shreveport Public Schools before she changed careers and went into counseling substance abuse and mental health where she found her true calling to help others with addiction and mental health struggles with individuals and families. She enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults in array of diversity and cultural competency.
